Overview
Plink Pong is a wall-mounted visual, tactile, and auditory public intervention. It invites passersby to spin it and take a moment to get lost in the sound, sight, and touch. Produces sound and motion through spontaneous movement. No two spins are the same, but they are predictable enough to be soothing. Playful, public-facing. Supports brief or repeated engagement.
Acrylic multicoloured disks that can be layered and spun to create different visual effects.
Current research investigating how design can support sensory regulation, stimulation, and joy in everyday environments, particularly for neurodivergent individuals.
Based on Robert Plutchik’s Wheel of Emotions, this object reflects eight core feelings: happiness, trust, fear, surprise, sadness, disgust, anger, and anticipation. The center mirror is left empty, inviting you to notice, explore, and mimic your own expressions, building emotional awareness. Explores emotional awareness through reflection. Uses simple illustrated emotional cues encouraging playful engagement with facial expression.
“It was all a dream”. A book about slides and nostalgia.
A kinetic piece for visual stimming. When you breathe on the reflective elements or walk past them, they move and shimmer in response. Uses shimmer and motion, similar to the effect of looking at water in sunlight. Biophilic design using a circular border that calms.
Engages visual and proprioceptive senses (for example, you can physically see the glitter squares move from the force of the breath you expel).

An ongoing project involving an ever-expanding collection of slide photographs. Now I’ve been gifted slides from families wanting to be part of the project, as well as continuing to find them through many alternative means.
