Plink Pong
Plink Pong is a wall-mounted visual, tactile, and auditory public intervention. It invites passersby to spin it and take a moment to get lost in the sound, sight, and touch. Produces sound and motion through spontaneous movement. No two spins are the same, but they are predictable enough to be soothing. Playful, public-facing. Supports brief or repeated engagement.
Prototype 2
Through on-site anonymous surveys, it was brought up multiple times that the location of Plink Pong (beside 2 classrooms in the Design corridor in Concordia University) made people uncomfortable interacting with it. They worried about the noise. Through an “I wish” prompt, someone requested that more objects be included, so using both of that feedback, I introduced new balls into the prototype.
This prototype was designed so that the front panel can be taken off and the interior accessed, so switching out the objects was simple.
